Wedding Vows 15

Minister/ Officiant: Who presents this woman to be married to this man?

Family and Friends, we are gathered here at this hour to witness and celebrate the coming together of two separate lives.
We have come to join this man, ____________ and this woman, ____________, in marriage, to be with them and rejoice
with them in the making of this important commitment.

Through the eyes of God they are able to cherish a mutual love.  With their foundation of friendship, they can respect one
another and accept each other for who they truly are. Their relationship is unique in the respect that their initial encounter
was nothing short of a miracle.  That magical moment when they knew that they were long lost souls in search of each
other they realized this was part of a Divine plan. It is with this amazing gift, we are here today to witness this blessed union.

Love is like a prism … for just a moment imagine the brilliant glitter capturing your attention. The different hues sparkling
and mesmerizing you, perhaps delighting you in their wonderment … the sparkles seem different as you view them from
varied perspectives. And what if … this prism is symbolic of love?

Love has many different facets. Love has the ability to capture our heart. Love allows us to experience ourselves in ways
far beyond anything we imagine possible. When feel and share love we feel joy and being alive – wanting to let the world
know how grand love really is … From my perspective, God is love. And this love that we share is God in action.
Furthermore, as we share this magnificent feeling with each other, its strength increases, expands and resonates …

Groom and Bride, each of you have experienced many facets of love in your lives. In fact expressions of love are here
today … your children. Isn't it wonderful how love continues to fulfill us …

On this - one of the most important days of your lives, you stand before this group of loving friends and family, who are
here to participate in and celebrate your wedding.

I invite you, the children of Groom and Bride to join your parents, to declare your love and your support to them and to
their marriage.

The union of Groom and Bride brings together two family traditions, two systems of roots, in the hope that a new family tree
may become strong and fruitful. Theirs is a personal choice and a decision for which they are primarily responsible. Yet
they will be enriched by the support of the families from which each comes.

Will you children encourage Groom and Bride in their marriage?

Children: We will.

Do you celebrate with them the decision they have made to choose each other?

Children: We do.

Will you continue to stand beside them, supportive of their love and their growth, individually and as a couple?

Children: We Will.

We are privileged to witness a special event in the lives of Groom and Bride. They are making their covenant in our
presence and are indicating their intention to move through life together. We are now given the opportunity to indicate our
support and affirmation of their decision.

To the Guests: I invite you as witnesses to indicate your support by answering the following question:

Do you commit yourself to providing all the encouragement and support possible to help Groom and Bride in their
marriage?

If so, please answer saying, I do.

Guests respond saying, I do.

To children and guests:

Our ancestors, all our relations, our friends, our families, God in all things, celebrate with us the bonding of hearts and
souls and the beauty of love. Help us see and know the divine presence in all that is, and keep the truth alive for us today
and through all your years together.

To the children:  You have come here today to pledge the two families in union to now be one. Groom and Bride shall carry
the legacy of both families forward. As you leave here today, you shall no longer be separate families – you shall be one.
Always and forever.

Children return to seats/positions

Let us bow our head:

Lord, bless this couple, their faith is strong and their love is true. Be their guide and let them know that you’ll always be
near … Lord, bless them with love – the kind that will keep on growing and deepening and finding more reasons to
celebrate the beautiful life they begin today. Amen.

Groom and Bride, I remind you, as you stand in the presence of God, that love and loyalty are the foundation of a happy
and enduring home.

As you exchange your vows of faithfulness, we will be listening and supporting you with our love. As you make your
promises to each other, we will be reminded of promises we have made and be moved to renew our own.

Your love for the other has called you to come together to be in union as one today. I ask you now in the presence of God,
and the presence of your family and friends to declare your love and commitment to each other.

Groom, repeat after me:

Bride, I promise to love you,
To remain honest and faithful to you,
To be available for you when you are in pain or grief,
And when you are filled with happiness.
I promise to challenge you always,
    To support and nurture you
And to be receptive to the gift of your love.
I love you with all my heart,
And I will love you for the rest of my life as long as I shall live

Bride, repeat after me:

    To support and nurture you
And to be receptive to the gift of your love.

And I will love you for the rest of my life as long as I shall live.
